As a final insult, the game’s widescreen mode wasn’t even true widescreen it didn’t widen the FOV, but instead simply chopped the top and bottom off a 4:3 aspect ratio and zoomed the image in. You could reinstall BioShock a measly two times before you had to call tech support to get more online activation keys. Trying to reinstall it didn’t help, and threw up another roadblock: the game’s stranglehold SecuROM DRM interpreted this as multiple users installing the game on the same machine, and it got cranky with me.
